Teen Mentorship Program

At ThisAbility.org, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover their full potential. Our Teen Mentorship Program is designed to provide at-risk teens and teens with disabilities a positive, skill-building experience that opens doors to self-expression, confidence, and future opportunities.

Through hands-on photography training, teens not only learn a valuable trade but also develop decision-making skills, self-belief, and a sense of purpose. Many of these youth come from challenging backgrounds and have only been exposed to their immediate environments—photography allows them to see the world in new ways, explore different perspectives, and dream bigger.

In addition to photography, we provide entrepreneurial skills training and professional development, teaching participants how to turn their passions into opportunities. They learn the fundamentals of business, branding, customer service, and financial literacy, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to create their own path.

For at-risk teens (ages 15-18), we are proud to partner with Metro Community Ministries, Inc., ensuring they receive mentorship, hands-on learning, and emotional support.

Support Our Mission

This program is completely free and made possible through community support. If you have older cameras (Rebels, 5D, 6D, etc.) that you’re no longer using, or if you’d like to donate to assist with supplies, program materials, and outings for our youth, your contribution can make a direct impact on their journey.

Photography Training for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

We offer specialized photography training for adults with intellectual disabilities. This is designed to be inclusive, accessible, and flexible, allowing participants to explore creativity, develop new skills, and gain confidence in a supportive environment.

 

Each participant receives a certificate upon completion, and the program is self-paced, ensuring they can learn at a comfortable speed.
